ODBC data sources on Windows Server 2008 x64

Windows Server 2008 x64 has both 32 bit ODBC data sources and 64 bit ODBC data sources. They are managed separately.

Setting up a 32 bit ODBC connection in Windows Server 2008 x64.
Start, Run, C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

To setup the 64 bit ODBC connection go to:
Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Data Sources (ODBC).

For consistency you should setup a matching 32 and 64 bit connections. Otherwise you may run into the error "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found".

Creation takes 3rd in Brazil

After 10 grueling hours racing, the little Creation Autosportif Team from the UK beat off a race-long charge from rivals Playstation Pescarolo Sport to finish an excellent 3rd place in the prestigious Mil Milhas endurance event, marking the final round of the Le Mans Series for 2008.

Joined by quick Englishman Stuart Hall for the event, Creation regulars Jamie Campbell-Walter (Scotland)and Felipe Ortiz (Switzerland) were quickly at home in their familiar surroundings and Hall adapted very quickly to the factory Creation CA07-Judd chassis, having driven a Pescarolo chassis all year for rival privateer British team 'Rollcentre Racing'. Though unable to challenge the superior factory backed Peugeot entries Jamie stamped his authority on qualifying for the 'rest' of the field, ending up almost a full second faster than the usually quick Jean-Christophe Boullion (France) in the factory Pescarolo.

Despite a brief threat of 'Sao Paulo' rain on race morning, the entire 374 lap International event was run in dry, warm conditions. Jamie took the start, staying with the Peugeots for a few laps before settling into race rhythm, and trading places with Boullion in the Pescarolo and Michael Vergers (Holland) in the Barazi Gulf Zytek P2. Everything seemed settled until just before 2 hours. Felipe (Ortiz) had been in the car no more than a handful of laps when he made an unscheduled pit stop. It transpired that he was clipped by a slower GT2 Porsche so he chose to make a stop to check for damage. Nothing was found and he resumed the race in 4th position. Then just after 2 hours, Boullion appeared on the Tv screens, the Pescarolo limping around with a lot of smoke coming from the front corner. Once in the pits the team wheeled the car into the garage and set about changing the front suspension wishbone. This proved a costly failure for the French team as they slipped back to the foot of the running order.

After these early incidents the race was very much trouble-free for Creation. Slick, faultless pit stops from the crew coupled with the drivers maintaining an excellent pace with much discipline and consistency mean't for an excellent outcome. Despite the Pescarolo team's late charge it wasn't enough to close the 5 lap cushion. Ex-Creation driver Nic Minassian (France) and team mate Marc Gene (Spain) took race honours from their team mates (Pedro Lamy-Portugal / Stephane Sarrazin-France).

This event marked Creation's 3rd consecutive race away from home and in turn their 3rd podium finish in a row. This one was special however. The team proved their worth with a new car, still under development in the ALMS races, and importantly proved consistent reliability, pace and discipline to be the 'best' of the LMP1 petrol cars, in the Le Mans Series.

Mil Milhas race, Sao Paulo, Brazil

After a hectic final qualifying session yesterday afternoon, Briton's Jamie Campbell-Walter wrestled the Soto-Alto backed Creation CA07-Judd P1 to a fine 3rd place on the starting grid, just a half second ahead of the Playstation Pescarolo-Judd P1. Raceday weather is expected to be in the low 70's with cloud cover and a chance of showers at some point during the day.

The race will be broadcast on www.lmes.net tomorrow via live-feed and viewers in Europe can see the coverage also via television, through Motors TV, Nuvolari Tv, Galaxie Sport and 7 Russia TV. Following 2 successful podium finishes in 2 consecutive American Le Mans races, Creation are racing in the finale of the 'European' Le Mans Series (www.lmes.net) this weekend at the famous Interlagos circuit, Sao Paulo, Brazil, in the annual and equally famous 'Mil Milhas' 1000 miles race.

Practice sessions are currently being held leading up to this weekend's race. Andy Woolgar, spokesman for the team, comments "So far all appears to be good with the Creation CA07/Judd team. After Wednesday's 'free practice' we ended up the day in 4th overall, and after this morning's first practice session we just slipped from 3rd on the final lap of the last session, back to 4th thanks to a quick time from rival Jean-Christophe Boullion in the Pescarolo-Judd LMP1."

ClickCulture sponsored Creation Autosportif takes podium finish at Laguna Seca

In front of a record crowd and under the Californian sun, Harold Primat and Jamie Campbell-Walter drove brilliantly to take British team
Creation Autosportif's second consecutive American Le Mans Series (ALMS) podium finish at Laguna Seca Raceway (Monetrey, CA) this past weekend,
beating off stiff opposition in the form of the Arena Motorsport Zytek of Darren Manning and Tom Chilton.

Creation Team Principal Ian Bickerton: "I love America! I think two trophies from two races in the ALMS, we can't ask for more than that. The
competition is well stiff out here at the moment and we need to up our game to match theirs. I think we know how to now. We have learnt a lot
in the last three weeks out here and hopefully we can pull together a deal to go to Interlagos (Brazil) and finish the season off there. I
think we've done a great job, and look forward to being back here next year."

Jamie Campbell-Walter: "What is incredible is that last year P1 and P2 on the grid was the Zytek and the Creation and that, after four hours of
racing, Darren Manning (#10 Zytek) and I were still racing hard again this year. But the pace of the manufacturers such as the Acuras, the Porsche
Spyders and Audi is incredible. While we improved by seven or eight tenths from last year, they've moved on by about three seconds. But all credit
to the team; we've come here and got two podiums from two races and well done to all the sponsors that helped this US campaign happen, Market 500.com,
Bank Baring Brothers Suisse, ClickCulture, Piedmont Triad Partnership, Arsenik, Alphabet, the team and the Dunlop tyres.

Harold Primat, who started the race for the Creation team and completed almost two hours in the car, was equally pleased with his two-race stay in the
United States. "It feels really good to be back on the podium here at Laguna Seca, and to finish the season on a high. It's been a lot of work to get
through this race; it's obviously a very competitive series and it's really difficult to compete with Manufacturers now. We have been working hard and
trying out best and luckily our best today made the podium in the P1 class. We have been very fortunate and I'm delighted to have had two podiums in the
two ALMS races with Creation. They seem to know my face a little bit as every time I come here I've been on the podium, and with Creation, so it's a really
good ratio. Hopefully I can keep it up. I have one more race to go in Brazil, this time with Pescarolo, and hopefully I can end up with a similar result.
I've been very happy with the time with Creation and have enjoyed spending the time driving with Jamie as well. It's been a very good campaign, like last year."

Jamie continued "We had a bit of a problem getting our tyres up to temperature after the safety car periods. While everyone suffered from this a bit, us and
Zytek seemed to suffer more than most. In the last stint, we had to stop under green and the Zytek had got in front of us, we were lucky because we put a new
set of tyres on just at the crucial moment. Mine came in quicker than his, as a new tyre, and I was able to overtake him in a do or die move at the Corkscrew.
I hadn't come all this way to finish 4th. I wasn't really into that! I'm really pleased."

ClickCulture Sponsors Creation Autosportif Racing Team

Endurance Racing Team To Compete In Final Race Of American Le Mans Series- Saturday, Oct. 20

RALEIGH, N.C. &ndash Lloyd Jacobs, CEO of ClickCulture, Inc., has announced that the firm is sponsoring the Creation Autosportif racing team, based in Oxford, England and with offices in Winston Salem, NC. The team competes in International Sports Car races such as the Le Mans Endurance Series (www.lmes.net) and the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) where teams compete in hi-tech two-seat sports cars for up to 24 hours at a time. These racing series were inspired by the world-famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France and have been in existence since the 1950's.

Andy Woolgar, Commercial Manager for Creation's US operations commented "It's an absolute pleasure to have the support and dedication of Click Culture. Lloyd was able to identify with the form of motor sport we are involved with, and relate that to his business. Our sport is very much high-end, hi-tech, similar to Formula 1, using similar technology and materials, and Click Culture's business relates directly, using many hi-tech cutting edge methods in their every day business activity, thus making a perfect match. Creation races globally and Click Culture benefits directly from that in awareness and new business".

The Creation team will compete in the final race of the ALMS, the Monterey Sports Car Championships, on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif. The race will be televised live on the Speed Channel at 2:30 p.m. PST, 5.30pm EST, and globally via satellite TV. The team finished second in the LMP Class and fifth overall in the prestigious Petit Le Mans 10 hour/1000 mile event at Road Atlanta in Georgia on Oct. 6.

"We are pleased to sponsor the Creation Autosportif team," said Jacobs. "The team had a great finish at the Petit Le Mans, and I am looking forward to watching Saturday's race at Laguna Seca."

CFSearch Differences Between CFMX 6 and 7

I've been tearing my hair out for the last two days trying to debug Verity/vspider since we've upgraded to CFMX 7. I have been using vspider to index two sites successfully on 6 and after the upgrade they were no longer working.

The spider was running and the collection was getting populated but cfsearch would fail complaining it could not find the collection even though I could see it in the CF admin.

Previously I had used the full path to the collection in my cfsearch (worked in CF6):
cfsearch collection="C:\wwwroot\projectname\collectionname"

This fails in CF7. It appears you no longer need the full path - this works in CF7:

cfsearch collection="collectionname"

Verity and especially vspider don't appear to be used much in the CF Community. A post to cf-talk and to the Adobe forums several hours ago have only resulted in one response.

Zeldman Slams The W3C

Today Jeffery Zeldman posted a blistering entry on why many of the people who were pushing standards (and the W3C) are beginning to abandon the W3C:

"Alas, the organization appears unconcerned with our needs and uninterested in tapping our experience and insights. It remains a closed, a one-way system. Like old-fashioned pre-cable TV advertising."

For alternatives he does mention Microformats which looks very interesting and probably worthy of more study.
