McAfee's Virus Definition Kills Apps

New on Slashdot and elsewhere about the latest McAfee's virus definitions wiping out a bunch of applications include Office, and according to the Slashdot post - ColdFusion.

I dug around a bit and found this list of affected files and indeed several Java related files are mentioned so it's possible this might trash ColdFusion. More at Sans.org.

I upgraded to McAfee Internet Security 8.0 recently. The upgrade installation hung on in the install of their Spam Killer program. This sent my computer into a reboot loop.
Tried Safe Mode and several scans using the installed McAfee. No Virus were found.
The ONLY way I was able to end the reboot loop was to uninstall all McAfee software. Their support recommended that I try installing one solution at a time so I chose VirusScan first. It again sent me into the reboot loop.

I was wondering how to get the McAfee Privacy Service to uninstall? I've tried clicking the uninstall under the start button, but it keeps telling me that it is unable to perform this task.
